With all the big name celebs, fresh-before-the-racks clothes and stunning models, it’s easy to get swept away in the spectacle that is Fashion Week, but where would we be without a stellar soundtrack to glue everything together? Designers spend big bucks to get superstar DJs like the Misshapes to bring the latest and greatest tunes to the catwalk—some, like Betsey Johnson, even hire one to play music backstage! We jotted down every song we recognized (and even some we didn’t—thank goodness for Googling lyrics!) to compile the best sounds of New York’s Spring 2008 shows. This season’s most played track: New Young Pony Club’s “Ice Cream.”
